Humanity is the heart and soul of impactful copywriting.

I’m a copywriter who crafts brand messaging, website copy, and content that resonates emotionally. Few things are as moving as feeling seen, heard, and understood, so I tap into the qualities that make us human—compassion and a desire for connection.

Emotionally engaging doesn’t have to be complicated. By blending research and strategy with solution-focused messaging, I help established solopreneurs and teams like yours turn website visitors into engaged fans and loyal customers.

Now, here’s a little bit about my roots.

Born to a single mom, I grew up in a tiny suburb of the San Francisco East Bay as an introverted only child with overflowing bookshelves and a love for reading. This hobby was my gateway to writing.

When I became the editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper, designing layouts and editing the work of my peers was my version of solving a fun puzzle. Around the same time, I was accepted into the GRAMMY Foundation’s music industry program in Los Angeles, which I attended for three summers. There, I learned the fundamentals of music journalism and had the rare opportunity to interview music icons on and off red carpets.

While earning my B.A. in Print and Digital Journalism and a minor in Music Industry at the University of Southern California, I interned at media companies and nonprofits. In those spaces, I covered stories on music, homelessness, food insecurity, and breast cancer prevention.

Immediately after graduation, a couple of music industry job offers pulled me away from a journalism career. That’s how I found myself on a path of grueling talent management, production, and influencer marketing roles in the startup and corporate world.

During my limited spare time, I always found my way back to what I loved: writing vulnerable blogs, digital zines, and newsletters about life, mental health, and my Black and Chinese identity.

In 2022, I realized I didn’t want to limit my writing time to outside the hours of my 9-to-5. So, I paired my marketing brain with my writing skills and pivoted.

Now, I’m a freelance writer working from my cozy home office in Houston, TX.

What brings me joy?

live music, unputdownable books, painting, iced strawberry matcha lattes, Japanese snacks, animation, beach hangs, late sunsets, mocktails, adventures with my husband, Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and so much more.
