Product Descriptions for Tóme Candles

A small batched, book-inspired candle brand.

Kim and Kayla Hill, the sisters behind Tōme, were brimming with marketing ideas but were unsure of which to lead with.

Balancing full-time jobs, collaborating with a renowned perfumer, and hand-pouring candles themselves, they sought help from me, an avid reader and aesthetics nerd, to write product descriptions for their e-commerce shop's debut.

The Launch

The Hill sisters developed Tōme’s brand strategy, key messaging, and visual identity with Launch + Co. I supported the brand launch by writing product descriptions for four candles.

Targeting customers who love candles and enjoy books and home decor, I used literary tropes as inspiration, creating stories to describe the notes of each luxurious scent.

After the initial project wrapped up, they booked me again to write a cozy founders’ bio to highlight their love for downtime and reading.
